Who is the course for?


Manual Handling courses are aimed at all persons who may undertake manual handling operations.

Why take the course?


Manual handling accidents account for more than a third of all accidents reported each year, it is reported that more than 500,000 people in Britain suffer from musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) this affects the upper limb or neck, this could be caused or made worse by their previous or current work.
Section 2 of The Health and Safety at work act 1974 and regulations 10 and 13 of the Management of Health and Safety at work Regulations 1999 require employers to provide their employees with health and safety information and training. This should be supplemented as necessary with more specific information and training on manual handling risks and prevention.

Controls and reducing the risk of harm
Practical exercises
Theory test

The course duration is half a day and students will receive a certificate of attendance on successful completion of the course.
