CAT & Genny Awareness

About the course

Damaging an underground cable or service can cause serious injury, disrupt work and lead to costly repairs. This course introduces the use of cable avoidance tools (CAT) and signal generators (Genny), including locating techniques, equipment care and the limitations of the technology.

Delegates will learn why locating buried services is an important part of planning excavation work and how the equipment can help identify their likely position.
